A collection of decorative objects and collectibles in various materials. The group includes a large blue and white ceramic pitcher decorated with floral and scrolling motifs and a visible area of crazing to the glaze; a character jug depicting a figure in a green tricorn hat; and a miniature silhouette portrait in a black frame. Metalware includes an Islamic style brass vessel with chased geometric patterns, a bulbous brass pot, a small pewter style dish, and a long metal spatula. A commemorative cast metal plaque for the 1981 Royal Wedding is inscribed around the rim ‘H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES LADY DIANA SPENCER 29th JULY 1981’ and features the Prince of Wales’s feathers above a scroll reading ‘ICH DIEN’. Also included is a nautical figurine of a sailor at a ship’s wheel with a base reading ‘BRITAIN’S PRIDE’, a circular desk barometer on a black stand, a die-cast model airplane with Royal Air Force roundels, and a rangefinder camera. The camera body is marked ‘Elite’ and ‘M3-776 088’. This lot comprises the decorative items only.


Condition report:

The ceramic pitcher shows fine crazing to the body and a visible crack to the rim (photo 1). The model airplane displays significant paint loss and surface wear (photo 1). The brass and metal items show varying degrees of surface tarnish and oxidation consistent with age (photo 1 and 2). The character jug and silhouette portrait appear in good order with no visible chips or tears (photo 3). The camera and barometer show minor surface dust and wear to the finishes.
