Sold for: £5
A collection of decorative earthenware and stoneware vessels and ornaments in various styles and glazes. The group includes a circular lidded jar featuring hand-painted floral motifs in blue, yellow, and purple with green scrollwork borders against an off-white glaze. Also included is a porcelain style ornament modeled as a small white bowl filled with hand-modeled flowers, including roses and pansies. The assortment features several art pottery pieces: a tall vase with a ruffled rim and textured basket-weave base in a mottled brown and amber drip glaze; a bulbous vase with a pinched rim finished in a deep burgundy flambé style glaze; and a scalloped pedestal dish with twin handles decorated in a radial brown and cream drip glaze. The collection is completed by a stoneware vessel modeled in the form of a shopping bag with a matte sand-coloured glaze and a small salt-glazed style stoneware pitcher with a bulbous body and pinched spout. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the pieces.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good condition with some visible wear. The floral ornament shows small chips to the delicate modeled petals (photo 1). The art pottery pieces exhibit minor surface wear and manufacturing glaze skips consistent with the medium, but no cracks or major repairs are visible (photos 2 and 3).
