A Thorens TD160B MkII manual belt-drive turntable featuring a suspended sub-chassis design. The unit is housed in a dark wooden plinth with a silver-toned metal top plate. It is fitted with a Mayware Formula 4 unipivot tonearm, identifiable by the stylised “M” logo on the headshell. The rubber platter mat is embossed with “Formula 4”, “PLATTER MAT”, “MAYWARE LTD.”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND”. A speed selector knob is positioned at the lower right of the top plate with settings for “33”, “0”, and “45”. The turntable is equipped with a smoked-grey acrylic dust cover and terminates in a standard UK 3-pin power plug. The top right of the plate is marked with the manufacturer “THORENS” and the model “TD160B MkII”.
Condition report:
The turntable shows signs of age-related wear and dust across all surfaces. The wooden plinth and metal top plate have visible dust accumulation (photo 1). The acrylic dust cover exhibits surface scratches and general cloudiness (photo 1). The rubber platter mat appears dry and dusty (photo 1). Wiring is present but appears tangled, and the functional status of the motor and tonearm bearings has not been tested. The presence and condition of a stylus or cartridge are not clearly visible.
