A collection of vintage and antique style metalware and various small collectibles. The lot includes a group of four ornate cast metal oval picture frames, designed in a Rococo style with openwork foliate and shell motifs and a darkened bronze or brass finish. Also present is a larger circular brass frame with a tiered profile and a brass stand featuring two curved arms and a central finial. Included in the group is a rectangular brass vent cover with vertical slots and a silver-toned metal mesh strap with a repeating geometric segmented design and a small circular clasp. The assortment further comprises a selection of small decorative items including a brass key, various escutcheons, a turtle-shaped brooch with blue and green enamel and white stone accents, and a small metal canister on a fine chain. A notable piece is an enameled shield-shaped insignia featuring a red, white, and blue field with a cross and figure, bearing the characters 58, RA, and ROMA. This lot comprises the metalware and collectibles only.
Condition report:
The cast metal frames exhibit surface wear and some accumulation of dust in the recessed areas (photo 1). The brass items, including the circular frame and stand, show minor surface scratches and tarnishing consistent with age (photo 2). The silver-toned mesh strap shows signs of heavy oxidation and tarnish across the links (photo 4 and 5). The enameled turtle brooch and ROMA shield fob appear intact with no visible losses to the enamel (photo 3). The rectangular vent cover shows some light surface oxidation (photo 2).
