Sold for: £34
A hand-knotted carpet featuring a traditional Indo-Persian style design. The piece is constructed with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, featuring an all-over floral lattice pattern. The central field is decorated with repeating stylized rosettes and star-shaped blossoms in shades of terracotta, sage green, and light blue set against a midnight blue ground. This is framed by a wide ivory-coloured main border and secondary guard borders containing repeating floral and chevron motifs. The ends are finished with a short, knotted cotton fringe. No other manufacturer marks or signatures are visible
Condition report:
The carpet is stored in a rolled state. The visible pile appears to be in good, thick condition with no obvious areas of heavy wear or moth damage visible (photo 1). The fringe is intact but shows slight tangling at the ends (photo 4). Minor surface dust and debris are present, consistent with storage in an industrial environment (photo 5).
