A tiered side table in the Chinoiserie style, featuring a games table top. The piece is constructed with wooden legs and frame turned to simulate bamboo nodes. The rectangular top features a central inlaid checkerboard pattern, flanked by two side panels of light-toned fruitwood or bamboo veneer. Below, a lower shelf is decorated with a parquet-style basketweave inlay pattern. The legs terminate in simple rounded feet. The underside of the tabletop is finished in a plain, dark-toned wood and bears no visible maker’s marks, labels, or stamps. This lot comprises the table only.
Condition report:
The table shows significant wear to the top surface, with heavy scratching and finish loss across the central chessboard section (photo 1). The lower shelf displays localized staining and water marks (photo 2). The faux-bamboo legs have scattered scuffs and minor indentations consistent with use (photo 2 and 3). A small white mark or chip is visible on the lower edge of the tabletop frame (photo 1).
