A Spanish style glazed porcelain figurine depicting a woman in period costume engaged in a domestic task. The figure is shown seated upon an upholstered stool with tassel detailing, wearing a grey-lavender gown with a dark patterned underskirt and a lace-trimmed bonnet. She holds a white fabric item, possibly a piece of laundry or a trousseau, within a small basket resting on her lap. The figurine is finished in a muted pastel palette with a high-gloss glaze. The underside of the base is almost entirely covered with a square-cut piece of dark brown felt, which obscures the central area of the porcelain. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or model numbers are legible on the exposed porcelain rim or through the felt covering.
Condition report:
The figurine appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs to the main body (photos 1-4). The delicate ruffles of the fabric in the lap basket and the edges of the bonnet appear intact. The protective felt pad on the base shows minor stray fibres but remains securely attached (photo 5).
