A pair of framed artworks comprising one oil painting on board and one pen and ink drawing on paper. The oil painting depicts a coastal landscape featuring rocky cliffs, a sandy beach, and crashing waves under a hazy sky. This work is signed BINI in the lower right corner and is housed in a light-coloured wooden frame with a fabric-covered inner slip. The second piece is a pen and ink drawing on paper depicting a steep, cobbled street scene with timber-framed buildings and figures with a horse and cart, characteristic of Clovelly, Devon. A signature is present in the lower right but is not clearly legible as a name. This work is presented in a dark wood frame with a gold-tone inner fillet and a wide off-white mount. The items are shown resting on an intricately carved wooden chest or table top under glass, which is not included in this lot. This lot comprises the two framed artworks only; the carved furniture shown in the images is not included.
Condition report:
Both works appear to be in good overall condition. Small spots of foxing are visible on the mount of the pen and ink drawing (photo 3). The frames show minor surface wear consistent with age. No visible damage is apparent to the oil painting surface or the paper of the ink drawing from the provided photographs.
