Print by Paula Rego ‘Family Scene’ mixed media on paper. This figurative composition depicts four figures in an interior setting, arranged in a complex, multi-layered group. To the upper right, an older woman is seated wearing a lace-trimmed lavender dress and white shawl. Centrally, a man in a white shirt and patterned brown and yellow cloth reclines, while in the foreground, a woman in a floral ruffled dress leans back with one arm raised. A fourth figure is partially visible behind the man. The work is executed in a modern, expressive style with bold brushwork and a somber palette of purples, reds, and earthy tones. The artwork is housed within a wide white mat and a thin metallic-finish frame under glass. The lot comprises the framed artwork only.
Condition report:
The artwork appears to be in a stable condition with no visible tears, foxing, or losses to the paper support (photo 1). The colours remain saturated and well-defined. There is light surface reflection on the glass covering the work (photo 2). The frame shows minor wear and light scuffing to the edges consistent with handling, but remains structurally sound.
