A framed oil painting on canvas by Phyllis F. Horne, depicting a vibrant garden scene. The composition features tall hollyhocks in various shades of pink and red growing in profusion against a traditional white picket fence. The work is executed in a textured, impressionistic style with visible impasto and dappled light effects. The painting is signed to the lower right ‘Phyllis F. Horne’ followed by a copyright symbol and the date ’92’. The work is presented in a decorative gilt wooden frame with a wide, off-white linen-textured mat and a narrow red inner fillet.
