A collection of costume jewellery earrings in various styles and materials, featuring both contemporary and vintage designs. The group includes several pairs of new-old-stock stud earrings mounted on original white retail cards printed with Murano Glass Stud Earrings, Handmade in Cornwall, Authentic Italian Glass, Surgical Steel, and ‘Nickel Safe’ – Allergy Free. These glass studs are decorated with millefiori and striped patterns in green, blue, and pink hues. The lot also contains two pairs of clear rhinestone studs on a card marked Isle, and a purple card bearing the Claire’s logo with multiple small black and gold-tone studs.
The wider assortment includes a large pair of gold-tone clip-on cluster earrings set with simulated pearls, a pair of black circular studs with gold floral motifs, and a pair of rhinestone drop earrings on a tan velvet display card. Various loose stud earrings are present in a textured box and small plastic containers, featuring turquoise-coloured heart shapes, faceted glass, and simulated pearls. The metal findings appear to be primarily silver-tone and gold-tone base metals. A small yellow-handled tool visible in the box is not included in this lot.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition with visible signs of age and wear. Several items appear to be unmatched single earrings, particularly within the loose storage box (photo 2). Surface wear, tarnishing to metal findings, and dulling of simulated pearl finishes are evident across multiple pieces (photo 4). The original retail cards show minor creasing, surface soiling, and shelf wear (photo 3).
