A collection of vintage costume jewellery presented in a cream-coloured faux leather vanity box with a red velvet-lined interior. The assortment comprises various necklaces, brooches, earrings, and pendants in styles dating from the mid to late 20th century. Notable items include multiple enamel butterfly brooches, a large gold-tone owl pendant with black glass eyes, and a large gold-tone floral brooch featuring a central faux pearl. The collection features strands of white and black faux pearls, faceted glass beads in turquoise and pink hues, and several strands of molded plastic beads. Metalwork includes base metals in gold-tone, silver-tone, and blackened finishes with embellishments of clear and coloured rhinestones and glass cabochons. Modernist style earrings with white stone-effect inserts and various floral-themed pins are also present. The tiered vanity box features a carry handle and a metal clasp to the front. No maker’s marks were observed on the individual pieces of jewellery.

Condition report:

The vanity box shows significant wear to the cream exterior, including surface scuffing, dark discoloration, and fraying to the edges (photo 1). The interior velvet lining shows light dust and indentations from the jewellery but remains intact (photo 4). A gold-tone butterfly pin shows minor loss to the enamel (photo 2). The white beaded necklaces show some stretching of the cord between beads (photo 1). Some items show surface oxidation and tarnishing to the base metal findings and pins (photo 3). The jewellery appears generally in good vintage condition with no major missing components visible in the overview.
