A collection of assorted enamel and metal pin badges, primarily representing various British charitable organisations, commemorative events, and animal welfare groups. The group includes a series of graduated Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) service pins denoting 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service, alongside a circular badge for the Friends of Plymouth and a rectangular commemorative badge for Armed Forces Day Plymouth 2013. Health and charity organisations are represented by pins for We Are Macmillan Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK, NSPCC, and the British Red Cross, as well as multiple floral motifs including Marie Curie daffodils and poppies marked 2013. The collection also features animal-themed badges such as a Mare & Foal Sanctuary pin, a Pooch veterinary pin, and various figural characters including bears and a puffin. The badges are constructed from die-struck metal with hard and soft enamel finishes, secured by butterfly clutch fasteners in gold-tone and silver-tone metal, with one example featuring a plastic clutch.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition with minor surface wear and light scratching consistent with handling across the group (photo 1). The yellow fabric daffodil shows some light fraying to the petal edges (photo 1). All fasteners appear present and functional as viewed from the reverse (photo 2). The mounting boards are for display and storage purposes only.
