A collection of die-cast model vehicles and aircraft featuring examples by Corgi, Matchbox, and Tonka Polistil. The group includes two Supermarine Spitfire aircraft; one larger model finished in camouflage livery with RAF roundels, accompanied by a box marked Tonka Polisti, and a smaller olive green version on a box printed with Polistil and SPITFIRE. Commercial vehicles include a white and green Kellogg’s Corn Flakes van in a Corgi box, a blue Osram Lamps school bus in a Corgi box, a green Suttons Seeds truck with a white load in a Corgi box, and a blue and white Kellogg’s van. The set also features a red Ferrari Testarossa in a Corgi window box, a tan and brown coupe in front of a yellow and purple box marked MODELS OF YESTERYEAR No. 8, and a Heinz van in a red Matchbox Models of Yesteryear window box marked Y-12 1912 MODEL T FORD. Two open-top racing cars with driver figures and a dark green saloon car are also present. The boxes show various printed and handwritten mailing labels.
Condition report:
The collection is in good to fair condition, with visible paint chipping and wear consistent with age and handling. Minor losses to paint are evident on the edges of the green saloon car and the blue Kellogg\'s van (photo 2). The aircraft appear complete with propellers intact (photo 1). The accompanying cardboard boxes show varying degrees of wear, including creasing, edge rubbing, and tearing to flaps, particularly on the Spitfire and Osram Lamps boxes (photo 1). Tape residue and adhesive labels are present on several boxes (photos 1 and 2). The red window box for the Heinz van shows significant creasing and wear to the card.
