A graphite drawing on wove paper by Robert Lenkiewicz, depicting a double portrait of two young children. The composition features a girl with pigtails and a boy positioned slightly to the right, executed in a confident, sketch-like style with expressive hatched shading. The work is signed in the lower centre in graphite, reading Lenkiewicz. The sheet is housed in a contemporary white-painted wooden frame behind glass, featuring a double off-white mount. The drawing is held to the mount at the top edge, and the verso is sealed with a hardboard backing secured by metal points. No further marks, labels, or documentation are visible on the artwork or frame.
Condition report:
The drawing shows significant condition issues, most prominently a dark horizontal band of adhesive staining and toning across the top edge of the sheet where it meets the mount (photo 1). The paper displays general undulating and cockling across the surface. There are several small spots of foxing visible in the lower right and upper left quadrants (photo 2). The frame shows light scuffing and minor wear to the white painted finish, particularly at the corners (photo 4).
