Sold for: £120
A vintage three stone diamond engagement ring featuring a yellow gold shank and white metal setting. The ring is set with three round-cut diamonds in a graduated row, likely old European or transition cuts, held within platinum-faced illusion settings. The shoulders of the ring are decorated with open-work foliate scroll motifs. The interior of the shank is stamped with the marks 18CT & PLAT, indicating a composition of 18 carat gold and platinum. The lot includes an original vintage grey plastic presentation box, the lid of which is moulded with the text H. SAMUEL Happiness ENGAGEMENT RINGS. A handwritten tag attached to the ring records a weight of approximately 2.5g.
Weight: 2.5g.
Condition report:
The ring displays wear consistent with its age, including notable thinning to the rear of the yellow gold shank (photo 3) and fine surface scratches across the metalwork. The platinum-faced settings show minor softening to the milgrain detail. The vintage H. Samuel plastic box remains in functional condition with some light surface scuffing to the exterior (photo 1).
