A collection of eight assorted vintage costume jewellery cocktail rings in various mid-20th-century and modernist styles. The group comprises eight rings featuring a variety of metal finishes including gold-tone, silver-tone, and a blackened finish. Decorative elements include a gold-tone openwork honeycomb dome ring, a modernist silver-tone geometric brutalist style ring, and a selection of stones. These include a large faceted red glass or synthetic stone, a green faceted oval stone with clear rhinestone accents, a deep purple faceted stone, and a brown banded stone featuring characteristics of tigers eye or agate. One ring is a gold-tone band set with an orange cabochon, and the lot further includes a dark metal open frame shank currently missing its centre stone. Several rings feature adjustable shanks to accommodate different finger sizes. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on the metalwork of any piece in this collection.
Condition report:
The rings are in mixed vintage condition. One dark metal ring is missing its centre stone (photo 1, top centre). There is visible wear and rubbing to the gold-tone and silver-tone plating across the collection, notably on the green stone ring which shows signs of tarnish to the metal surface (photo 1, bottom right). The orange cabochon and faceted stones appear generally intact without significant chips visible in the photographs.
