A collection of various pocket and butane lighters including examples by Zippo. The group features several metal cased lighters, notably a brushed chrome finish unit with an embossed scrollwork design and a polished chrome example bearing the blue United Nations emblem. Three further chrome cased units carry British naval crests for HM Survey Ship Fox, RFA Resource with the text OP Grapple 92/93, and Fort Grange. A distinctive dark red faux-leather wrapped lighter is marked 1951 to the front, and a black matte finished example displays the Canadian flag above the word Canada. The collection also includes a gold-toned Hudson brand slim butane lighter with a vertical ridged pattern marked Superkings to the side and Korea to the base, alongside a cylindrical black metal lighter with ornate scrollwork and a single faceted stone. Accompanying the lighters is a yellow paper packet of Swan Flints Extra Length. Several units carry the script Zippo logo on the base with the text Bradford, PA. Made in U.S.A. and date codes including F 14, G 14, E 12, E 11, and F 13.

Condition report:

The lighters show varying degrees of use and surface wear throughout the collection. There are numerous surface scratches and areas of tarnishing visible on the chrome casings (photo 1). The RFA Resource example displays significant rust and corrosion to the interior hinge and the underside of the lid (photo 3). The polished chrome Zippo units show prominent fingerprints and light residue on the flint wheels (photo 2). The faux-leather wrap on the 1951 lighter shows minor rubbing at the edges (photo 1). The black matte finish on the Canada lighter exhibits small chips and wear to the coating, particularly along the top edge of the lid (photo 4). The Superkings lighter has some surface dulling to the gold-toned finish (photo 1). The working condition of the internal mechanisms has not been tested.
