A collection of assorted woven baskets and decorative homewares. The group predominantly features functional and decorative containers made from natural willow wicker, split wood, and woven seagrass. Included are two tall, rectangular storage baskets with integrated handles, a traditional round market basket with a fixed handle, and a garden trug style basket constructed from split wood. Decorative pieces include a multi-coloured woven basket with teal and pink weavers, a square cutlery caddy with four internal compartments, and several shallow trays and lidded containers. Two baskets are fitted with floral-patterned fabric liners, one of which features a small carved wooden bird finial. The lot also contains a vintage magazine rack with a turned wooden frame and woven seagrass panels, a small carved wooden vase, and a large white glazed ceramic pedestal planter embossed with leaf and vine motifs. The planter contains a quantity of natural pine cones. This lot comprises the baskets and decorative items only; the books and furniture shown in the background are not included.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good used condition. Minor fraying and occasional breakage to the natural weavers are visible on the larger storage baskets (photo 1). The magazine rack shows light surface scuffing to the wooden frame (photo 3). The ceramic planter appears intact with no visible cracks or significant chips (photo 6). Individual baskets show minor surface wear consistent with age and functional use.
