A contemporary Viking style decorative sword featuring a polished stainless steel blade with a central fuller. The blade is decorated along its length with acid-etched zoomorphic and interlaced knotwork patterns. The hilt is constructed from cast metal with an antiqued silver-tone finish, featuring an intricate relief-decorated grip in a Celtic style. The guard and pommel are designed with circular rings terminating in gold-tone animal heads. On the ricasso of the blade, there is a square printed mark containing a stylized helmeted profile next to the stacked text GLADIUS TOLEDO. The sword is currently fitted with a length of twine tied around the guard and grip.

Overall Length: 98 cm.

Condition report:

The blade displays several surface smudges and fingerprints across its length, with visible areas of surface oxidation and discoloration located towards the tip (photo 1). The cast metal hilt and grip appear structurally sound with no visible breaks to the openwork rings. A white adhesive label reading M1331B is attached to the blade near the ricasso (photo 2).
