A collection of seven porcelain military figurines, comprising five standing soldiers and two mounted cavalry officers, each finished in a hand-painted polychrome glaze. The figures depict European military uniforms from the Napoleonic era and are mounted on dark, polished bases. One base for a cavalry officer on a grey horse bears a gold foil adhesive label that reads GENUINE CARRARA MARBLE MADE IN ITALY. The standing figures include one in a green coat with a black bicorne hat, two in red coats with muskets, and one standard-bearer holding a white flag featuring a red eagle crest. The bases of several standing figures carry printed black text including 1805 Horse Guards, Officier de Cavalerie, and 1805 Royal Horse Guards. The two mounted officers include one on a chestnut horse and one on a grey horse, both dressed in period cavalry uniform. The bases appear to be constructed from genuine Carrara marble as indicated by the labels.
Condition report:
The collection shows significant damage to one central standing figure, which has a detached head (photo 1). The head is present and currently stored in a plastic bag (photo 3). The standing figure in the red coat appears to have a broken or detached musket or staff (photo 1). There is visible dust accumulation and minor paint wear consistent with handling across the collection (photo 2). The marble bases appear structurally sound without visible chips or cracks.
