A collection of carnival glass and ceramics featuring an assortment of iridescent glassware and transferware. The group includes a large pressed glass punch bowl decorated with embossed grapevines and fruit clusters, accompanied by eight matching cups, all displaying a marigold iridescent finish. Also present is a tall swung vase with a ruffled rim and ribbed body in marigold glass, a second tall iridescent vase in a dark smoke tone with a multi-pointed ruffled rim, three varying marigold glass bowls, and a small matching pitcher. A single tall, slender vase in a matte opaque orange-red finish is included. The ceramic pieces comprise a two-handled vase featuring a blue transferware design of a neoclassical chariot scene; the base is printed in blue with a chariot graphic and the words CAULDON ENGLAND arranged in a curve. A bird figurine in flight with a metallic iridescent glaze is marked to the underside with the incised characters Berma HOLLAND and the number 274. The collection is completed by a small pale blue jasperware style dish with a white sprigged border and a central white monogram RR.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good vintage condition overall. The Cauldon vase exhibits fine crazing throughout the glaze (photo 7). The iridescent glass items show minor surface scratches and light wear to the finishes consistent with age and use (photo 1). No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible in the provided images.
