A collection of stoneware studio pottery comprising various functional and decorative pieces. The group features a consistent aesthetic of hand-painted and incised decoration in earthy tones of green, grey, and cream, accented with iron-red borders. Notable items include several deep bowls and a small dish decorated with sgraffito-style depictions of ducks, birds, and fish. Also included are two large plates and a square framed plaque featuring a complex checkered mosaic pattern. The assortment further comprises a large lidded casserole pot with vertical ribbing and a speckled oatmeal glaze, a rectangular tray with a foliate motif, and a small faceted bowl with a blue and green interior glaze. The collection is completed by two white-glazed olive dishes with ceramic olive branch handles, two circular candle holders in a yellowish-brown glaze, and a framed ceramic tile with a botanical leaf design. No maker’s marks, signatures, or backstamps are visible on the surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition, appearing well-preserved with typical kiln variations and glaze pitting consistent with the studio pottery process. One of the two white olive dishes has a visible chip on the outer rim (photo 3). The remaining items show no visible cracks or significant structural damage from the angles provided.
