A tabletop collector cabinet or chest of traditional form, constructed with book-matched veneers in a geometric cross-banded pattern. The interior contains seven shallow pull-out drawers, each finished with highly figured burr wood veneers and small circular brass-tone pull knobs. Each drawer is lined with red fabric, with some featuring longitudinal dividers intended for the storage and display of coins, medals, or specimens. The door is secured by a brass-tone latch and the side of the cabinet is fitted with a decorative metal tassel ornament. A commemorative clock visible in the images is not included in this lot. This lot comprises the cabinet only; the clock and other items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The cabinet appears to be in good used condition. The high-gloss finish shows light surface scuffing consistent with age and use (photo 1). The red interior lining appears clean and well-maintained throughout the drawers (photos 3 and 5). The brass-tone hardware, including the drawer pulls and hinges, is intact and functional.
