A collection of sewing and haberdashery supplies housed in various wicker baskets and storage containers. The lot includes a cardboard tray containing multiple spools of thread in various colours, with brands including Gutermann, Sylko, Coats, Dewhursts, and Stiko. These are presented on a mix of wooden, plastic, and cardboard spools. A clear plastic storage box with a blue handle contains a large quantity of loose and carded buttons in plastic, metal, and shell-effect finishes, alongside metal snap fasteners.
The collection further comprises a large floral tapestry style zip-top bag with leather-look trim containing at least two balls of multi-tonal cream and grey marl yarn, one bearing a partial Patons label, a pink polka-dot fabric pouch, and a smaller cream fabric pouch with a script print. A circular wicker basket with a floral fabric liner contains a Sew Easy Flexible Curve in original packaging, a roll of tan quilting tape, a small white plastic jar, and a blue rectangular case. Additional items include a circular wicker basket with a green and navy blue tartan quilted liner containing a metal tape measure and a brown houndstooth fabric remnant, a circular lidded wicker basket with a brown faux-fur pom-pom finial, a large tapered seagrass basket with integrated handles, and a small hexagonal glass jar with a gold-tone metal lid containing small metal components.
Condition report:
The thread spools are in various states of use, with several showing loose ends and minor tangling (photo 1 and 6). The floral tapestry bag shows minor scuffing to the leather-look trim (photo 1). The Sew Easy Flexible Curve and one ball of yarn remain in their original plastic packaging (photo 3 and 8). The wicker baskets and clear plastic storage box show light wear consistent with use but appear structurally sound without significant breaks to the weave (photo 2 and 5). The contents are a mixture of new-old-stock and part-used vintage items.
