An Old Charm oak vitrine coffee table manufactured by Wood Bros. The table is constructed from solid oak with a medium-dark finish in the Tudor Revival style. The top features a wide oak frame set with a central recessed glass panel; this frame is designed to lift off to access a shallow internal display compartment lined in oak. The base is decorated with a carved guilloché pattern to the apron above a scalloped lower edge. The table is supported by four heavy, turned bulbous legs joined by a central H-stretcher. The underside of the base features a diamond-shaped black and gold foil adhesive label reading Old Charm Furniture GUARANTEED WOOD BROS WARE HERTS, alongside a small rectangular brass-tone plate embossed with Made in England. A handwritten number 2 in blue ink is present on the underside. The interior frame of the base is fitted with a brass strike plate for a latch mechanism.
Condition report:
The table is in good functional condition. There is minor scuffing and finish loss to the square sections at the base of the legs (photo 2). Light surface scratches and minor wear are visible to the oak frame surrounding the glass (photo 1). The interior display area shows an accumulation of dust and minor debris (photo 7). The glass panel appears intact with no visible chips or cracks. The floor surface in the images shows significant wear which is not representative of the item\'s condition.
