A collection of seven framed works primarily executed in watercolour and pen and ink on textured paper. The group includes six floral botanical studies and one coastal landscape. Four works are signed by the artist Peggy Allen and dated between 1990 and 1994, with pencil inscriptions identifying subjects such as Welsh Poppy, Marguerites, and Spring Flowers. A large multi-aperture frame contains a set of eight narcissus studies, signed by the artist Nan Heath in black ink, featuring pencil titles including Scilly White and Pheasant Eye. The collection further includes a coastal landscape and a separate floral study signed Stephen Morris in black ink. One work bears a verso adhesive label for Glandore Gallery, Isles of Scilly, featuring a telephone number (01720) 422535 and an image of a coastal pine tree. A second white adhesive label on the reverse of the multi-aperture frame also identifies Glandore Gallery, Porthloo, St. Marys, Isles of Scilly, and provides the gallery website address. The works are presented in modern wooden frames with multi-layered mounts.
Condition report:
The watercolours appear to be in good condition with vibrant pigment across the collection. Minor toning is visible to the paper edges of the Nan Heath studies (photo 7). The frames show light shelf wear and minor scuffs consistent with age, with some dust present beneath the glass (photo 1). The mounts and glass appear sound with no visible evidence of foxing or water damage.
