Start price: £5

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £10

A wall mirror manufactured by Pilkington Mirrors, finished in a gilt-style gold-coloured surface. This landscape-oriented piece features a traditional moulded profile with a cambered or arched top edge, further detailed with decorative acanthus leaf-style scrolls at the corners. The mirror plate is mounted onto a solid fiberboard backing. To the reverse, a rectangular white paper label is affixed, printed in black with a green border and logo, reading: PILKINGTON MIRRORS, Model: Como Gilt, Batch No: 090296, Glass Thickness: 4mm. The label also states the product is made in England and conforms to BS7449:1991, and provides a manufacturer address of Honeypot Lane, Kingsbury, London NW9 9QQ. A white hanging cord is attached to the reverse via two metal D-ring brackets.

Condition report:

The mirror plate appears to be in good overall condition with no visible foxing, silvering loss, or scratches (photo 1). The gilt-style finish on the frame exhibits minor surface wear and light abrasions consistent with age and domestic use (photo 2). The fiberboard backing is intact. The white hanging cord on the reverse shows signs of slight fraying in the central section but remains attached and functional (photo 3).
