A collection of elephant figurines and still banks in various ceramic finishes. This group features an assortment of forms, including seated, standing, and anthropomorphic figures in a wide range of glazes and decorative styles. The materials comprise glazed ceramic, porcelain, stoneware, and frosted glass. Notable styles within the collection include iridescent pink and blue glazes, blue-and-white floral transferware patterns, and brightly coloured orange and yellow hand-painted designs with floral and geometric motifs. Several items are designed as still banks with coin slots located on the upper surfaces. One blue elephant bank bears a white adhesive sticker to the reverse reading S702L. One green elephant figurine features a crackle-glazed finish. The lot also includes three frosted glass light shades with flared rims and textured patterns. This lot comprises the elephant figures and glass shades only; the shelving units and auction process labels shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The collection is in fair to good vintage condition. A pink seated elephant in the fourth image shows significant surface wear and loss of finish on the front feet (photo 4). Glaze crazing is present on the green elephant bank located in the centre of the shelf (photo 3). Various pieces exhibit minor scuffing, shelf wear to the unglazed bases, and light dust accumulation throughout the group. No other major chips or cracks are visible in the provided photographs.
