Start price: £5

Estimated price: £5 - £10

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £22

A collection of religious and devotional objects comprising several crucifixes, a rosary, and a commemorative keychain. The group includes a large wall crucifix featuring a light brown wooden cross with a metal corpus and a scroll-shaped plaque bearing the letters INRI. Also present are multiple smaller metal crucifixes, one featuring a black composite inlay and another of modernist design with a thin, textured cross. This modernist piece is marked to the reverse with the word ITALY in block capitals. The collection further includes a black bead rosary with a silver-tone metal centre medal and a matching crucifix. A gold-tone keychain is included, featuring a central medallion depicting a figure in profile, possibly a commemorative Pope John Paul II coin, with the text ROMA and SAN PIETRO readable on the surround. The lot is completed by a small rectangular metal relief depicting a religious figure, mounted within a gold-tone frame with an integrated plastic stand to the reverse.

Condition report:

The items show varying degrees of age-related wear. The wooden wall crucifix has some surface scuffing and minor marks consistent with hanging (photo 1). The metal components of the various crucifixes show minor surface oxidation and tarnishing, particularly visible on the larger corpus and the smaller metal crosses (photo 1). The rosary beads appear intact, though the metal links show slight surface wear (photo 1). The framed relief shows light scratching to the frame and the reverse stand is functional (photo 2). All items are sold as seen.
