A collection of children’s books, annuals, and paperbacks featuring a wide assortment of mid-to-late 20th-century British publications. The group includes several volumes by Enid Blyton published by Dean & Son, such as The Magic Faraway Tree, The Enchanted Wood, and The Naughtiest Girl is a Monitor, identifiable by their pictorial spines and blue and yellow cloth-effect boards. The collection also features Walt Disney titles published by Grolier, including Worlds of Nature, America, and Stories from Other Lands. Other notable inclusions are J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit published by Unwin, a series of Horrible Histories by Terry Deary published by Scholastic Hippo, and various vintage annuals such as Pippin, Look-in, and The Brownie Annual. The books are presented in a variety of formats including hardback with pictorial boards, cloth bindings, and mass-market paperbacks. Some volumes bear printed pricing on the spines, such as a pink spine reading £5.95. A small pictorial box set titled The Children’s Bible is also included. This lot comprises the books and the Bible set only; the wooden shelving shown in the images is not included.

Condition report:

The collection shows varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. Several volumes, particularly the Enid Blyton and older Ladybird titles, exhibit significant losses and fraying to the spine ends (photo 5 and 6). Bumping to corners and edge wear are visible across most hardback annuals (photo 2). Some paperbacks show creased covers and slanted spines (photo 4). The dust jacket for James Herriot\'s The Lord God Made Them All shows edge wear and small chips (photo 5). A white adhesive label with handwritten alphanumeric characters \'W13284\' is present on several spines (photo 1, 5, and 7). Minor foxing and toning are visible to the edges of the text blocks throughout the group.
