The frame is composed of a moulded material with a gilded finish, exhibiting characteristic openwork scrolling, C-scrolls, and acanthus leaf ornamentation. It houses an oval mirror plate with a bevelled edge. The style is consistent with Hollywood Regency and Rococo Revival interior trends of the mid-20th century. No maker labels or stamps are visible on the reverse or frame.
Dimensions not provided.
Condition report:
The mirror plate remains in good condition with no apparent foxing or loss of silvering. Two decorative butterfly decals are applied to the glass. The gilded frame shows evidence of age through fine surface cracking (craquelure) and minor rubbing to the gilding on the higher points of the relief.
