A collection of seven hand-painted porcelain items produced by Goebel, based on the original illustrations of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. The group includes: an Apple Tree Girl wall plaque (Hum 360/0), featuring a 1958 copyright date and the stylised bee factory mark; a Boy with Accordion figurine (Hum 2031/I) complete with a separate dark-stained wooden rocking chair, marked as a 1997 first issue with artist signature; a Farm Boy (Hum 82) standing with two pigs; a Goose Girl (Hum 47) tending to two geese; The Lost Sheep (Hum 68) depicting a boy with a lamb; Good Hunting (Hum 7) featuring a young hunter with binoculars; and Playmates (Hum 58) with a boy and two rabbits. Most items bear the blue underglaze Goebel factory marks and are variously marked W. Germany or Germany. Several figurines retain their original paper identification labels on the base edges.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. The Boy with Accordion figurine is in excellent condition. The Apple Tree Girl plaque shows some minor brown spotting to the unglazed reverse. Typical fine surface crazing and light wear commensurate with age are visible on some pieces. No chips, cracks, or signs of restoration were noted during inspection.
