An antique oval hinged locket pendant, identified as 9ct gold. The front of the locket features a decorative split design. One side is ornamented with hand-engraved foliate and scrollwork patterns, while the other side is plain and polished, featuring a single small clear gemstone in a star-set mount. The back of the locket is plain and polished throughout. The piece opens on a side hinge to reveal two oval compartments intended for photographs. It is fitted with a tapered, articulated bail for suspension. Stamped marks are visible on the interior of the covers but are too blurred for precise transcription.
