This assortment comprises a variety of mid-20th-century British commemorative, institutional, and decorative items. The collection includes two bronze medals for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, dated 2nd June 1953, each featuring a profile bust of the Queen and inscribed “CROWNED 2 JUNE 1953” and “QUEEN ELIZABETH II”. Both medals are contained within their original red presentation cases. Institutional and school interest is represented by a blue enamel shield-shaped badge for Peter Symonds’ Christes Hospital (Winchester), inscribed “PETER SYMONDS FOUNDER 1607” and “CHRISTES HOSPITAL”, as well as a blue enamel “PREFECT” badge. Military and service items include a silver-tone Light Infantry cap badge featuring a crowned bugle horn, a shield-shaped badge embossed “R.B.S.”, and an octagonal medal suspended from a red, white, and blue ribbon.

A gold-tone scalloped pendant/medal of sporting interest is inscribed on the reverse “R.A.E. S.C. GALA 1966”. Small decorative objects and jewellery include a letter opener with an engraved floral silver-tone blade and a turned dark wood handle, and a rectangular metal case with engine-turned geometric diamond patterns and a vacant oval cartouche. The lot is completed by various small pins and charms, including a silver-tone turtle-shaped charm, a five-pointed gold-tone star pin, a small gold-tone bar brooch with a three-knot design, and several other enamel and metal pins featuring leaf and floral motifs.

Condition report:

The items are in varied condition consistent with age and use. Most silver-tone metal components show surface tarnish and minor oxidation. Enamel on the badges appears largely intact with only light surface wear. The coronation medal presentation boxes show typical shelf wear and some scuffing to the edges.
