A traditional hand-pushed garden roller of cast iron construction. The item features a heavy, two-part split metal drum designed for ease of turning on turf. The frame is finished in dark green paint and includes a decorative fleur-de-lis cast motif below the handle assembly. It is fitted with a polished wooden T-bar handle. A circular cast iron plaque is mounted to the centre of the frame with raised lettering that reads: KINGSTON BENTALLS LTD ON-THAMES. This roller represents a piece of gardenalia originally sold by the well-known department store in Kingston-upon-Thames.
Condition report:
The item is in good, functional condition. The frame appears to have been repainted in a vibrant green colour. The wooden handle is solid and well-maintained. The split drums show significant surface oxidation, pitting, and wear consistent with age and typical outdoor use.
