This collection comprises an assortment of militaria, organisational badges, and commemorative enamel pins primarily from the mid-to-late 20th century. Featured militaria includes a Soviet cap badge with a red enamel hammer and sickle star within a gold-toned laurel wreath on a green felt backing. Commonwealth and Canadian military items are present, including a brass RCA (Royal Canadian Artillery) shoulder title, badges featuring crowned wreaths such as those for the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps, and a lion passant insignia. The lot also includes various brass belt buckles, slides, and a large D-ring fastener. Organisational badges include several enamel pins for the St. John Ambulance Brigade and the British Red Cross Society. Scouting and Guiding interests are represented by various trefoil and fleur-de-lis pins in brass and silver-toned finishes. A selection of modern enamel pins features motifs such as the BBC Children in Need Pudsey Bear, the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), and the British Motorcyclists Federation (bmf). Also included are national flag pins, a MAKE LOVE NOT WAR button badge, and a yellow daffodil pin on a presentation card. Materials include struck brass, base metals, hard and soft enamels, plastic, and cloth.
Condition report:
Items vary in condition. Older military brass pieces display characteristic signs of age, including surface oxidation, tarnishing, and patina. One large blackened metal fitting shows significant surface wear and heavy oxidation. The modern enamel pins are generally in good to excellent condition, with many preserved in individual plastic bags. Enamel on older badges appears largely intact with minor surface scratches.
