This collection comprises an assortment of 20th-century decorative ceramics, novelty items, and wooden carvings. It includes a pair of hexagonal-form earthenware planters featuring blue transfer-printed floral and bird motifs in the Chinese style. Two earthenware teapots are modelled as thatched cottages with hand-painted polychrome decoration, in the style of mid-century British cottage ware. The novelty money boxes include two Little Miss Sunshine figures on red bases, a ceramic money box in the form of a Volkswagen camper van with hand-painted text Jades car fund and Every Little Helps xx, and a two-slice toaster. Character and giftware items include a large blue Winnie the Pooh mug, a smaller light blue Winnie the Pooh mug containing a purple wax candle, a lavender-coloured mug with floral decals, a small ceramic spaniel dog figurine, and a white shell-moulded butter dish with cover. Two dark wood carvings are present, including one of a curled sleeping cat with incised details. Inscriptions include MISS SUNSHINE on the red character bases and an adhesive tag marked FS16c on the dog figurine. No factory backstamps are visible on the undersides shown.
Condition report:
One blue and white planter has a significant chip and old tape repair to the rim. The white shell-moulded butter dish displays surface staining and crazing consistent with age and use. The remaining items show typical signs of wear, including surface dust and minor scuffing.
