Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises an original watercolour on paper and a trio of lithographic prints. The watercolour depicts a street scene of the Siena market in Italy, with the Piazza del Campo and the Torre del Mangia rendered in light washes and fine line work. The piece is monogrammed L.S. and dated ’92 in the lower left, accompanied by the handwritten inscription SIENA MARKET. It is presented in a light-oak finished wooden frame under glass with a neutral cream mount. The collection also includes three colour lithographs after the artist David Roberts (1796-1864), depicting topographical views of Petra, Jordan. The titles in the lower margins are transcribed as Petra – Lower View View of Al Khazneh, Petra – Al Khazneh, and Petra – The Eastern End Of the Valley. Each print features bilingual inscriptions in English and Arabic and is attributed to David Roberts. These are housed in matching mahogany-toned wooden frames with gold-lined cream mounts.

Condition report:

The watercolour is in very good condition with no visible fading, toning, or foxing. The three lithographs are well-preserved, though the mounts show scattered foxing and spotting, most notably on the Lower View of Al Khazneh. The frames exhibit light surface wear consistent with age and handling.
