Two decorative items. The first is a standing figure of Saint Francis of Assisi, depicted with a tonsured head and wearing a hooded monastic habit cinched with a knotted cord belt. The figure holds a bird in cupped hands, with a further small creature perched upon the right shoulder. It is constructed from a cast composite material, likely resin or cast stone, with an antiqued bronze-effect surface finish. The second is an ornate ceramic plant pedestal in the Victorian Majolica style. The circular top and columnar body are decorated with high-relief acanthus leaf and scrolling architectural motifs. The piece is finished in a glossy mustard-yellow glaze with darker pooling in the recesses to accentuate the relief detail.
Condition report:
Saint Francis statue: Generally good condition with surface weathering and minor scuffs consistent with display as a garden ornament. Majolica style pedestal: Appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips or cracks. Fine glaze crazing is present, which is typical for this style of glazed ceramic.
