A Sowester boat anchor, complete with a length of anchor chain. The anchor is manufactured from cast steel with a hot-dip galvanised finish and features the signature hinged shank and a plough-shaped fluke. The shank is cast with the mark Sowester 25LB. The accompanying chain is composed of galvanised steel links.

Condition report:
The items are in a weathered, used marine condition. There is visible surface oxidation and light rust, particularly at the tip of the fluke where the galvanisation has worn away and around the hinged joint. The chain shows similar weathering and light grit accumulation. The hinge remains in functional working order.
