An assortment comprising Royal Air Force sweetheart jewellery and a sterling silver napkin ring, presented in their respective cases. The collection includes a white metal sweetheart brooch featuring the RAF monogram within a laurel wreath, surmounted by a King’s Crown and flanked by outspread wings. This item is housed in a black hinged jeweller’s box marked for Owen & Robinson Ltd., Leeds. Also included is a white metal bar brooch with a miniature central RAF wings emblem and a small white metal cross pendant inset with a red-coloured stone. These are contained in a maroon leatherette case marked for Page Keen & Page Ltd., Plymouth, which bears the Prince of Wales feathers. The sterling silver napkin ring is of waisted form with scalloped edges and is engraved Lee in cursive script. The interior of the ring bears hallmarks for Birmingham, 1926, with the maker’s mark A D over E H B.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. The white metal brooches and pendant show minor surface tarnish and light wear consistent with age. The silver napkin ring is heavily tarnished with a deep patina but the engraving and hallmarks remain clearly legible. The presentation boxes show minor age-related wear, light shelf marking, and some discolouration to the interior silk and velvet linings.
