An antique gold bar brooch centred with a rectangular hardstone cameo. The black and white cameo is carved with a classical profile of a woman and is mounted in a raised gold setting. This central plaque is embellished with two round white pearls at the top and bottom, flanked by four seed pearls set in pairs to the sides. The plain gold bar features a hinged pin and C-clasp on the reverse, accompanied by a safety chain and a base metal safety pin. The bar is incised with a 15ct hallmark near the hinge, indicating a British origin between 1854 and 1932.
Gross weight: Approximately 6g.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good antique condition. The hardstone cameo is well-preserved with no apparent chips. All pearls are present. The gold bar is straight and the pin and clasp are functional. Light surface wear and tarnish are visible, consistent with age and use.
