Buyer's Premium:

An assortment of decorative ceramics featuring pieces from several prominent British and international manufacturers. The collection includes a Royal Doulton large character jug identified as John Barleycorn Old Lad (D5327), produced in glazed earthenware with hand-painted features. The base bears a green backstamp with the letter A, indicating a production date between 1939 and 1955. Included is a Mason’s Patent Ironstone plate in the Double Landscape pattern, featuring an Imari-style transfer-print with hand-coloured highlights depicting Chinese pagodas and floral motifs. A large footed earthenware bowl by T.G. Green and Company is decorated in the Delft pattern with blue floral transfer-prints. The lot also contains a Royal Worcester fine bone china plate in the Royal Garden Elgar pattern, dated 1983, decorated with a garland of roses and a gilded rim. A large hand-painted Japanese porcelain plate features pheasants amongst peonies on a cobalt blue ground with a yellow scalloped border. Completing the group is a blue lattice-work plate with a floral centre, a souvenir landscape plate, two creamers with gilded foliate decoration, a boxed set of three ceramic roses, and various small decorative objects including a miniature cup, a lidded pot, and floral trinket dishes.

Condition report:

The collection exhibits varying degrees of wear consistent with age. Significant crazing is visible to the glaze of the T.G. Green bowl and the reverse of the Mason\'s plate. The Royal Worcester plate shows some surface staining and light wear to the centre. Minor gilding wear and surface abrasions are present on several pieces, but the Royal Doulton jug appears to be in good overall condition without obvious chips or cracks.
