The piece features a removable, pierced fretwork top panel decorated with intricate Celtic knotwork and thistle motifs, incorporating a central triskele emblem. The frame is supported by four cabriole legs that terminate in stylised pad feet, with the legs joined by a shaped X-stretcher. The construction displays characteristics of sand-casting with visible assembly points and finishing to the underside. No maker marks or foundry stamps are present.
