A contemporary mango wood dining suite in the Flagstone style, attributed to Barker & Stonehouse. The suite comprises a large rectangular dining table and a set of chairs, including carvers. The table is designed with an intricate parquetry top featuring geometric patterns and contrasting wood stringing and cross-banding. It is supported by a substantial trestle-style base with two turned columns on square plinths, connected by a long stretcher. The table includes three frieze drawers on one side, constructed with machine-cut dovetails and fitted with decorative bronze-tone floral backplates and ring pulls. The chairs feature curved ladder-back slats and upholstered seats in a neutral-coloured fabric, with the carver arms finished with decorative metal medallions.
Condition report:
The suite is in good structural condition. The tabletop shows minor surface scratches and light wear to the finish consistent with domestic use. The upholstery appears clean and in good condition.
