A Barker & Stonehouse sideboard from the Flagstone range, constructed from solid mango wood. The piece features distinctive geometric parquetry to the top and front panels, incorporating stone and wood inlays in diamond and hexagonal patterns within crossbanded borders. The top surface is designed with cleated ends. The front is configured with a vertical stack of three drawers to the left and two cupboard doors to the right. All are fitted with original patinated metal ring-pull handles featuring decorative starburst backplates. The sideboard is supported by short, turned bun feet. The design displays clear influences of the Arts & Crafts and Cotswold School styles.
Condition report:
The sideboard is in good used condition. There are visible surface scratches, light indentations, and minor scuffing to the top surface and around the base edges consistent with domestic use. No major structural damage or repairs are evident. The drawers and doors are in good working order.
