Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of an assortment of mid-20th-century Salvation Army ephemera and uniform accessories, likely produced circa 1965 to commemorate the centenary of the organisation’s founding. The collection includes a square textile banner featuring a red central field and a wide blue border. At the centre is an eight-pointed yellow star containing the motto Blood and Fire, with a diagonal yellow banner superimposed across it bearing the word Centenary in black block capitals. Also present is a group of metal uniform badges and enamel pins. Notable items include two brass cap badges featuring a central S within a crown and sunburst, surrounded by the words Blood and Fire above crossed bugles. Enamel items include two Home League pins depicting a house, a red shield-shaped pin for community care ministries, and a circular Salvation Army pin. One pin remains attached to its original retail card from Salvationist Publishing and Supplies Ltd., London WC1H 9NN. The lot is completed by a blue fabric ribbon sash featuring several merit badges, including a green star-shaped Girl Guides pin and a shamrock badge, as well as a small green shamrock pin in a plastic display case and several loose buttons.

Condition report:

The textile banner shows significant creasing throughout, with minor fraying and loose threads visible at the edges. The metal cap badges exhibit surface tarnish and a dark patina consistent with age. Enamel pins appear generally well-preserved with some light surface wear. The fabric ribbon sash shows some minor fraying to the edges.
