Buyer's Premium:

This collection of silver-plated hollowware and table accessories includes various pieces in Neo-Classical and Art Deco styles. A three-piece tea service consists of a teapot, two-handled sugar bowl, and cream jug, each of rounded form with gadrooned rims and raised on four scrolled feet. These pieces are marked to the underside with four shield-shaped punches containing the characters A B & Co followed by a small o in a circle, EPNS in four separate shield punches, and the pattern number 2467. The EPNS designation identifies the items as electro-plated nickel silver. The collection further includes a tall pedestal coffee or hot water pot with a fluted lower body, an ebonised angular handle, and an engraved monogram within a scrolled cartouche. An Art Deco style teapot and matching cream jug feature faceted, angular bodies. A large circular tray is decorated with a pierced gallery rim and an extensively engraved centre with foliate and scroll motifs. A three-light candelabrum features scrolling arms and gadrooned borders. Additional items include an oval fruit basket with pierced floral scrollwork, a circular bowl with a pierced rim, a plain circular finger bowl, and a faceted cream jug. Certain pieces bear additional stamped pattern numbers such as 998. No British hallmarks for solid sterling silver were observed.

Condition report:

The items are in a condition consistent with age and regular use. There are visible areas of wear to the silver plating on multiple pieces, revealing the underlying base metal. Small areas of green verdigris and oxidation are present, particularly on the rims and decorative details. Surface scratches, minor tarnish, and signs of polishing are evident throughout the collection.
