This collection comprises a variety of vintage and antique British and Oriental ceramic wares. The lot includes a Japanese Satsuma style vase lamp of ovoid form, hand-painted with figures in a landscape with a pagoda and cherry blossoms, mounted on a circular wooden base. Also present is an Art Deco style ribbed ceramic lamp base with a seafoam green glaze and gilded floral decoration.

Ceramic tableware features a Burleigh Ware jug in the blue and white Ben Lomond pattern, bearing a beehive backstamp for Britain Beautiful and an Australian registration mark. A porcelain moustache cup and saucer is decorated with hand-painted floral sprigs and gilded highlights. A Japanese Imari style lidded bowl and saucer is finished in a traditional iron-red and cobalt blue palette. A small earthenware mug with a transfer-printed chinoiserie scene is marked SINGA C E & M.

Functional items include a white earthenware Swan Vestas advertising match striker with a textured dome, a white ceramic invalid feeder, and a multi-piece condiment set on a matching tray. Commemorative items consist of a King George VI 1937 Coronation mug and a Queen Elizabeth II 1953 Coronation mug. Additional items include a handled serving plate with a bird motif, a pink transfer-printed jug, and a lustre-ware teacup and saucer.


Condition report:

Items show general age-related wear throughout. A significant chip is visible on the rim of the Imari style saucer. Crazing and minor staining are present on several earthenware pieces, notably the older mugs. The lamps are sold as decorative objects only; the electrical wiring is aged and must be tested by a qualified electrician before use.
